"About Town" Girls

Too many people live in New York and, for some reason, do not know where to go for a good time.  We thought that maybe you’d like a little help from our club staff and members. 

You must be 21 years of age to party at these bars, THEY DO CARD!!!!

(Note:  The following list is not a complete list of all the bars and parties that occur in this city. For a more complete list, you can go online and search in goggles, yahoo, etc.)

Lesbian Places:

  •  Henrietta Hudson, cozy little lesbian nook with cute bartenders, is located at 438 Hudson St. (at Morton St.) in the West Village (212-924-3347). Thursdays are Salsa and Merengue nights, Fridays have techno/ house in one room and rap/hip hop/old school in the other room, and Saturdays have music from the 80’s, 90’s, and today.  Cover prices range from $5- $7.  Drinks are reasonably priced and the crowd is mixed and gay-boy friendly.

  • Crazy Nanny’s, located at 21 7th Ave. South (at Leroy St.), features 2 floors and 2 bars. (212-366-6312). Fridays and Saturdays, DJ MK or Kim B mixes mostly rap and hip hop, with a smattering of house.  Sundays and Wednesdays are karaoke night with Lisa G as your hostess with the mostess.  Cover is usually $10 on the weekends, free on weekdays.  Drinks are reasonably priced and the crowd is becoming more diverse, but mostly Black and Latina women.

  • Cubbyhole, located at 281 West 12th St. (at West 4th).  Friday nights are the best, with Carla as your bartender.  This eclectic neighborhood bar is the perfect place to bring a new date.  The ceiling is a great conversation starter, and if you don’t know what I mean, you must go there to find out.  The space is tight, requiring you to get close to whom ever you are with, and the cliental is extremely friendly, (drunk or not).  The bar dog, Cash, will help you drink your drinks if you have had too much.  The prices range from $4-$7.50 and $3 pitcher.  THERE IS NO COVER.  If you go, watch out for Rose’s ex, she’s on the prowl.

  • Heaven, located at 579 6th Ave. (btw 16th & 17th St), is multilevel night/dance club boasting 3 floors, 3 bars, 2 dance floors, 2 lounges, and 10 flat screen TV’s (212-243-6100).  Wed, Fri, and Sundays are Women’s Parties.  The music is eclectic with a smattering of house, techno, hip-hop, and Spanish music.  Cover ranges to $10 and drinks are reasonably priced.

  • Meow Mix, located at 269 Houston St. (at Suffolk St.) is the East Village’s only 7 nights a week lesbian-ruled bar (212-254-0688).  Cover varies.

  • Lovergirl is every Sat. night at Club Shelter, located at 20 West 39th (btw 5th & 6th Ave.), boasts 2 levels.  The underground level is

  • open until 5 a.m. (212-252-3397).

  • RubyFruit Bar & Grill, located at 531 Hudson (btw West 10th &Charles St), is a bar for that professional, upscale crowd.  There is a cozy restaurant downstairs complete with a fireplace. (212-929-3343).

  • Escuelita, located at 301 West 39th St. (corner of 8th Ave.) is open Thurs-Sun 10-5 a.m. (212-631-0588).

  • Ginger’s, located at 363 5th Ave. (btw 5th and 6th St.) in Bklyn, is Park Slope’s chill spot with a summer outside garden (718-788-0924).

  • Spectrum is located at 802 64th St. (at 8th Ave.) in Bayridge, Bklyn (718-238-8213.

  • Metropolitan is located at 559 Lorimer @ Metropolitan St. in Greenpoint, Bklyn. (718-599-4444).

  • The Warehouse is located at 141 East 140 St. (Grand Concourse) in the Bronx.  Open on weekends, Girl’s night is Fri. (718-992-5974).

  •  Krash is located at 34-48 Steinway St. (at 35th Ave.) in Astoria, Queens. Closed Wed & Sun. (718-937-2400).

  • Mardi Gras Lounge is located at 523 Bay St. in Staten Island (718-442-9196).
